Ulrich Intermediate Principal Named District Secondary Principal of the Year
The proud principal of Ulrich Intermediate, Ms. Charlene Davis-Norris, has been named the 2024 District Secondary Principal of the Year.
Ms. Davis-Norris started working at Klein ISD in 2017 as an assistant principal at Klein High and earned her current position as principal of Ulrich in 2021. She is revered as a joyful and positive leader who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo.
“Ms. Davis-Norris is set apart by her student-centered leadership. She’s mastered the balance between accountability, support, and love, and her belief in her students and their ability to be exceptional is truly one-of-a-kind,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “She builds strong foundations for success among her students and staff, leading by example with a positive attitude and high standard of excellence. Because she is so respected as a high-performing principal, Charlene is a strong mentor for new principals in our district. We are so blessed to have this outstanding leader serving our Ulrich school community. Congratulations!”
Those who work with Ms. Davis-Norris note that she is a leader of leaders who has open lines of communication with her team and keeps kids at the heart of what she does. Her high level of expectations for her students, staff, and colleagues makes her admired by her peers.
“My heart is grateful right now. This work is hard, but it is so rewarding. There’s a passion that comes from what we do as principals and the impact we see daily. I am blessed to be here in Klein ISD,” Ms. Davis-Norris said. “I went out on a ‘God move’ coming here. I wanted to challenge myself, and it was the best decision ever. I’m blessed. I’d like to say it’s because of me and my purpose and fulfilling my purpose, but my students give me my ‘why,’ and they fulfill me. I take this honor with pride.”
Principal Davis-Norris is an exceptional leader who embodies the core values of our Klein Family and ensures that we all relentlessly work toward our shared vision for every student in our collective care.
It is no secret that Ms. Davis-Norris is a special leader. Her passion, charisma, and energy draw people to her. Colleagues who have the pleasure of knowing her cannot say enough great things about the kind of person and leader she is.
