Each year a dress code is handed down by the school board. Last year’s list can be found on page 35 of the student handbook and is expected to be very much the same this year.

Listed below are some (but NOT all) KISD dress code requirements that will be strictly adhered to. It is not our goal to disrupt your workday or cost your student educational seat time, but unfortunately the reality is that failure to adhere to these guidelines can result in either or both.

· Hats and head coverings may not be worn in the school. This includes the hooded part of a hooded sweatshirt. These sweatshirts will be taken up and subject to parent pick up if the hood is up inside the building.
· All shorts, athletic or otherwise, must extend past the mid-thigh.
· No student will wear exposed rings, studs, or other jewelry associated with body piercings. This includes nose rings.
· Low cut, see-through, or backless tops are not permitted.
· Pants must hang on the bottom of the hipbone. “Sagging” will result in a dress code violation regardless of the undergarment.
